Padang-Bukit Tinggi, Sumatera

I have been here for three days and those days were spent travelling across west sumatera. From Bukit Tinggi to Batu Sangkar to Paya Kumbuh. Then today we went off to Danau Maninjau. On the first day we were here, we visited a few places of interests in Padang, Pantai Air Manis is one of them. A small village near the beach was related to the legend of Malin Kundang, who was turned into a stone for his arrogance towards his mother.

Pantai Air Manis, Padang. There was nothing much for me to see here except the small area near the stalls (see below), which shows the stone structures of the malin kundang legend. The beach wasn't that clean, too. If you want to swim here, you may want to ask somebody around here if it is good or not. The waves coming and going was a sight to behold.

the story is etched on a stone wall at the beach.
